“Can this be used to attach my second monitor to my laptop? My monitor cable has two usb connectors but my laptop has 2 usb ports, one on each side of the laptop and the cable cannot reach both sides.”

should work. there are 2 USB ports on this. i will say this product overheats fairly quickly, but it still works so it does the job
