You would need to connect the USB-C side into a computer that supports "DisplayPort Alt Mode" and HDMI into your monitor. Will not work the other way around. GPU and video source must support DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC to achieve 8K @ 60 Hz /4K @ 144 Hz resolution. Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device.
