The JUCX27L12 supports high data speeds, up to 100 W USB-C Power Delivery, and 8K/4K video transmission, and is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 devices. The Universal Audio Apollo x8p requires a true Thunderbolt 3 connection to communicate with your computer. USB4 ports and USB4-capable cables can support Thunderbolt 3 devices in many systems because USB4 is built on Thunderbolt 3 technology, but compatibility ultimately depends on whether your computer’s USB-C port fully supports Thunderbolt 3/USB4 with PCIe tunneling, not just the cable.
