They will be pretty decent around construction, but a gun range, probably not. For the range you will want a higher decibel rating, closed cell foam plugs, and even an earmuff over that. Music earbuds cut a lot of passive noise and ANC helps another 15-25%, but they are not designed for the range, and ANC is better at continuous sounds, droning planes, buses, rumbles etc, not short, sharp, reports from gun fire.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If they fit your ears properly it will make the loud noises a bit quieter but not negate then completely. The noise cancelling isnt going to be as powerful as over the ear headphones such as bose or Sony, but that's true for almost all in ear buds. They do work quite well to drown out some noise passively however, again, as long as the fit is good.
