As far as I know, these are the only Jabra buds that can do this. You can use the left or right bud independently and keep the other in the case. I do this frequently for calls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The older model Jabras worked a little differently in this regard, than the New Model. The New Models, Elite 3, 4, 5, and 7, can all keep playing music even if you take one bud out, and the 3,4 and 5 will automatically convert to Mono Mode if you simply put the bud you're not using, back in the case, or turn it off manually by holding the button on the one you want to turn off, for 5 second, the music will KEEP PLAYING. The Elite 7 has a sensing feature in addition, that can pause the music when you take a bud out etc, it is configurable though (I believe), where you can turn this feature off, so on the 7, it will keep playing even if you remove it, if you disable that feature. At the very least for the 7, if you want it to go into Mono mode like the 3,4 or 5, simply remove one, and put it in the case, and it will revert to Mono mode. If, you just want to hear someone, or talk to someone, you can turn "hear-through" mode On, and the outside mics amplify all sounds and voices and pass them THROUGH the buds so you don't have to remove one, very handy, and I use that feature. On the 3's, you pause the music, (if you really need to hear someone), and then hit the left button 1 time to turn on hear-through mode, then converse. I find my Elite Active 4's, takes this one step further, and I can turn on an additional feature that my wifes 3's don't have, when I want to converse, I can simply hit the left button once, and it mutes the music, (does not pause it though, it keeps playing in Pandora etc, you just can't hear it), AND it turns on Hear-Through Mode so you can converse easily, one button, no need to remove a bud. Or, an any Newer pair, hit the right bud once to pause the music and the left bud once for hear-through and converse, or pull a bud out and talk, and the music will keep playing on the 3,4 and 5, and configure the 7 to make it do what you want, when you remove a bud. Plenty of options.
