[17yrs military expirence] No, absolutely not. ANC is not adequate hearing protection. Any earbuds would be the equivalent of cotton balls. For your safety, you choose hearing protection based on the decibel reduction rating.

The ANC on the device is meant to cancel out a steady stream of background noise, like people having a conversation in the background. We cannot guarantee the best ANC performance on the device with sudden loudness spikes, like when firing a firearm. In this case, we recommend an over-the-ear headset that will better protect your hearing.
