If by "earbuds" you are referring to the actual diameter of the ear tip base only, then the diameter is 5.15mm (without any silicone or other comfort tip applied.) That size increases depending on which size and type of comfort tip you choose to apply. Since I did not like the two types of ear tips that came with the Elite Sport (x3 silicone and x3 memory foam type), I have been shopping around to try to find another comfort tip that I will like, but due to the unusually small diameter of the base of the ear tips, finding an alternate ear tip that has a good, snug fit, has been a challenge. Most other tips are either too big and too loose, or they are too long, preventing the earbud contacts from meeting with the contacts in the charging case, the result being that the earbuds fail to charge properly.
