Make sure the 5.1 isn’t connected to another device. Also, try powering your phone off and back on again, then try pairing.

In this case, all you need to do is press the Bluetooth button on JBL remote control for at least 3 seconds while pairing with your smart phone. Once the JBL unit appeared on your phone just connect to start the Bluetooth service.
