I havent had this experience. I bought my JBL Charge 3 on May first of this year and I have only had to charge it twice since then. When it is completely off and disconnected from a music source the battery holds up pretty well. For example, I sat out in my garage for 3-4 hours last Saturday playing music constantly and then just cut it off and brought it in the house and sat it in the living room without charging it. The very next day the power went out at my house and my wife and I cut the speaker n lit some candles and played cards for 2 hours until the power came back on. I still havent charged that speaker and i used it out in my garage again Thursday morning. You may have a defective speaker, because the battery life from my experience has been great. Either that or your speaker wasn't completely turned off.
