Depends on the noise level in which he works. If a carpenter then it probably will work. If a metal worker then probably not.

I've worked in the steel mill....definitely NO.... also inside a bakery, YES ! (retired now) But all in all, I am very pleased with my JBL Clip..... light, compact, with crisp, clear sound.
