Overall this speaker is great at it's price. It's very loud with quality sound comparable to that of the beats pill. Every time I break my speaker out my friends enjoy it during party settings or just relaxing. Tho the battery life is around 8 hrs you will need to be cautious about using this as your wake up alarm due to the ability of it dying before the alarm you set in the morning. However if you have it on the charger that night then yes it will make your alarm louder.
