I have not timed how long it takes to charge but it does have a battery light that can be used to determine if it is fully charged or not. See the light indicator in the image below.

Our JBL Flip 6 comes with a factory charge when brand new. With this, there is no direct time frame that we can provide for an initial charge. Unlike older devices that needed a certain amount of time plugged in initially, batteries now are better and do not require this. The indicator light will stop lighting once the speaker is fully charged.
