Thank you for your enquiry. The Xtreme 2 has JBL Connect PLUS Technology, an IPX7 rating (waterproof), and is slightly bigger and heavier - while the Xtreme has JBL Connect, IPX 5 rating (splashproof), but is slightly lighter. Both have the same output (2x20W), but the Xtreme 2 has a bigger frequency response. If you need further assistance, please submit a case request at https://www.harmanaudio.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 2 has more functions in the JBL app. Sound wise the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t think you can go wrong with either. The Xtreme 2 has better and more dynamic bass and less sound distortion at higher ends. You can’t connect to newer JBL speakers with the Xtreme as they’re not compatible, while the Xtreme 2 is. The Xtreme is only splashproof, while the Xtreme 2 is waterproof. With all that being said I think going with the Xtreme 2 is the better option of the two, but I think the Xtreme is an excellent choice as well.
