Our Xtreme 2 can handle 2 x 20W. A speaker’s ability to handle power is one factor that will determine how loud it can be. The efficiency, sensitivity, and dispersion characteristics will all contribute to a speakers apparent loudness. Also, a speaker producing only a narrow range of frequencies can be much louder than a speaker capable of reproducing a full range of frequencies. Please keep in mind that each time the power is doubled, that only 3dB more volume is obtained. This is a perfect way to illustrate how dangerous specs can be in the hands of someone who doesn’t truly understand them.
