Is this soft gel or hard plastic null

It is not a gel case. Sides are more of a rubber to absorb shock of drops. The back is a hard plastic that holds the fluid and glitter

It is truthfully a little of both it's a pliable plastic on the sides and hard on the back. Unlike other Kate Spade cases the writing is on the part that is closest to the phone so it will not scratch off like the other cases!
