• Yes. I first place the tea bag in the K-cup holder and let the heated water pass through. After brewing is complete, I transfer the tea bag to the cup to steep for a few minutes longer. It's a lot faster than heating a tea kettle or potentially overheating a cup of water in a microwave.

• Yes you can. I do it all the time. Just make sure there aren't any pods in it.
