“Are the controls hard to see when the coffee maker sits under upper cabinets?”

• The push-buttons are well lit with easy enough to see graphics BUT there is a tiny status window (showing 'add water' and your selections) that is impossible to read when it is under a counter.

• Yes. Standard countertop along with short people may have the issue. Buy a roller Based tray at bed bath and beyond. Then you can pull it out closer for your shorter members of the family.
