• Just tie wrap it unless it is going for a ride in the back of a truck. Never had a problem.

• yes. That's where I installed mine. If you want it hard mounted you will probably need a 3.5-inch to 2.5-inch mounting kit, but the standards SATA data and power cables fit the same.

• yes the SATA cable plugs should be the same size. You most likely will need a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket/adapter to cleanly do the job however.
