So I finally got in touch with someone at kitchenaid that was able to at least provide me some information. She said that the fan can run up to 8 hours after wash was completed or until the door is opened. I don’t think I have tried it for that long so I will let it hit 8 hrs and see if it turns off and report back
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup - this is a big waste of electricity. My bill has jumped since this fan has been running 8-10 hours 3 or 4 times a week. Its unnecessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also looked up this issue online and it did say up to 50 minutes. However, mine was running for hours so I called KitchenAid was was told I should have it checked. I had a technician come out to check it and he called KitchenAid directly and spoke with an "engineer" and was told that the fan will run as long as it senses moisture in the dishwasher. Many plastic items don't dry completely in the dishwasher, therefore, the fan runs until the door is open. I never would have purchased this model if I realized this was going to happen. It's a big waste of electricity!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Checked this morning and the fan was off. So the information was correct the fan will run up to 8 hours or until the door is opened. I’m not sure if it uses its sensor to determine when to shut off or if it runs longer when extended dry is selected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine does the same thing. It runs until the door is opened. The dishes are very clean and completely dry though, but I can’t find anywhere online how long this fan is supposed to run for. I don’t want it to burn out. I started the dishwasher at 11:40pm and checked it this morning at 8am and the fan was still running. KitchenAid support had no idea how long it’s supposed to run for. Some older models had run times but this model is different and doesn’t have it specified.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Do you guys realize how little electricity this fan uses?
