Hello SueV! There is one indicator light to show that the cooktop is on and hot. The burner itself will glow red when in use as well. Thank you for your inquiry on our KitchenAid appliances.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is one overall indicator light to indicate cooktop is on and one overall light to indicate cooktop is hot after turned off. While a burner is turned on, that burner will glow red (either constantly or intermittently depending on heat setting). All burners can be on at once. I've been very happy with this cooktop...the burners, the indicator lights and the downdraft fan (amazingly strong, yet quieter than my previous cooktop).
