I haven't had any problems with the cord interfering with making smoothies and soups. It isn't the kind you can charge. I do make sure to unplug it before I dismantle it. Good length on the cord. I brought the corded one because it cost less and I have outlets on my counter. I am sure it would be convenient to have a cordless one but I am pleased with the corded one.
