Yes it's normal to have this grease, but it's not safe to mix food with it.
Use baking soda and or olive oil to clean it - that's what we did and it worked well.

I had the same problem didn't know the bowls was gonna do that even tho I washed it I put mash potatoes in there and they turned black I was so sad after all that peeling and cooking the potatoes I threw them away after that I washed it again with soap and hot water all black stuff came off .
