“Does this have a slow start speed to keep ingredients from flying out of the bowl? I have an older one, same lift type,and when I add ingredients, especially dry like flour, it coats everything in the room even at its slowest speed. I'm hoping this is”

You can use this on low speed and gradually increase. I highly recommend also getting the shield which helps things flying out. Hope this helps and I'm sure won't regret getting the mixer
