Powered bookshelf speakers cannot be used in conjunction with other speakers other than 1 subwoofer. If you are looking for a surround speaker for your home theater system, we would recommend the R-51M, the passive version of this speaker. The R-51M will need to connect to an AV receiver to get signal and power.
