A:Answer No true. As long as there isnt a gap in the frequencies covered by the individual speakers, you can have mis-matched brands. You will however want your Front Right and Left to be the same speaker (brand and model) and your rear Left and Right, to be the same. But your center channel and subwoofer can be any brand, even if the brands dont match.
