Time Machine compatible? null

In my experience, yes. I don't know if this is a necessary caveat, but I had another drive that I used for TimeMachine and my current Mac (the hard drive cloned from my previous Mac) requested the old TimeMachine volume but I selected this new drive and haven't had an issue. I've backed up the entire current Mac and then subsequently only the active user account (I keep separate accounts for maintenance).
