“When upgrading the ram from the singular 8gb to two 16gb are there any stipulations I need to be aware off? i.e. any sort of setting that needs to be turned on to take advantage of the second ram stick or both sticks needing to be of the same brand?”

You should certainly use two of the same stick. But I didn’t have to do anything.. I just installed two G skill ripsaw 16gb sticks for a total of 32gb and it works great. This is kinda necessary because windows 11 was consuming like 6 of the 8 gb of memory that was in there. Highly recommend this upgrade.
