Aside from the PlasmaPro models (which have an optional plasma function), all Levoit air purifiers are ozone-free and do not produce ions. Please note that the PlasmaPro models also have ozone-free versions on our website (Core 200S, 300S, 400S, & 600S). The plasma function works by breaking down pollutants' molecular structure through the bonding of negative and positive ions. For more information, please contact our support team directly.
