Will the timer run as a kitchen timer while food is cooking? In other words, can you use the timer as a timer at the same time food is cooking in the microwave oven?

My current one can and this is very handy when using both the stove and the microwave to complete the evening's meal (unfortunately, my magnetron is going out and I am shopping for a replacement).

Yes it does. Pressing the kitchen timer button brings back up the display after it's been set.

The LCS1413SW has a "Time Cook" feature that lets you program a specific cook time and power level. For best results, there are 10 power level settings in addition to HIGH (100%) power. Since some recipes call for different cooking power levels during different stages of a cook cycle, you can also program your oven to switch from one power level to another for up to 2 stages...IFV
