“What if I don't have my wifi working at the time I need my A/C? I pause my wifi when I am not there, my house is in Florida. I need the A/C unit to work regardless of wifi signal.”

You have to have a working wifi signal to communicate with the unit. You will not be able to pause if you want to keep seeing the unit.
