“I bought LMV2031ST which is listed as having a "grill element". I do not see this addressed in the Owner's Manual & do not see any type of unit w/in the microwave that looks like a "grill element". Does this model have one & if so, how is it activated?”

I am responding to "LG Answers" to my question. So the model is advertised as having a grill element & it does not, in fact have one. that is one of the reasons I chose this model. now what? uninstall it, return it, buy another, install the new one? Frustrating. w/s should be updated.

It indicates the unit has a heating element that cooks foods as if on a grill, resulting in crispier textures. There is no reference to this in the owner's manual nor LG Spec sheet.
