A:AnswerIt comes on automatically and stays on the entire time of the cooking. Note, however, that the interior of this unit is dark, not white, so it can be difficult to make out much while it is running (I noticed other microwaves with dark interiors -- I don't know why this is done, it doesn't make sense to me).
A:AnswerWe are not familiar with the model number of your current microwave as it is not showing up as valid. The LMV2031ST does not have an extend a vent. A:AnswerHi Bobaloo1. Regrettably, LG does not manufacture any ducting or transitions. You may want to check Home Improvement Stores or do an online search to find retailers who carry ducting...^IFV
A:AnswerHi Mike. The recommended ducting for the LG 2.0 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMV2031ST is 3 1/4" x 10" and you have to transition to rectangular or rigid 6" round ducting. Transitioning it down to 4" is creating a type of restriction because you will be reducing the capacity by 2/3rds and that will affect the performance. The blower needs all the help it can get to exhaust the air. The unit cannot be ducted into a common duct work. Round ducts should be a minimum of 6"...^IFV
A:AnswerYes you can vent from the back, it has the instructions in the user manual to configure it as such. Go to LGs site and download a copy if it if it isn't here at the best buy site.
A:AnswerHello, it would seem there may be an issue with a sensor. Let's see if we can get that taken care of for you. Please give us a call when you are with the unit at 1-800-243-0000. ^AC

A:AnswerIt can be mounted flush with the upper cabinet. There are three venting options and it's easy set it to what you prefer. Mine came top vented, and I switched it to rear vented. You just need to remove a few screws and change the blower orientation and screw it back in place. The third option is to set it to vent thru vents on the top front.
