It mounts from under the cabinet near the ftont. Not sure if all Lg units mount the same way but I think they would. You could call Lg customer service and inquire to be sure.

Please try again later.DCH, Regardless of whether you're installing the Over- the-Range Microwave, Model # LMV2031SW or any other LG microwave or another manufacture's Over-the-Range Microwave, they all are installed in the same way and the clearances that they need to adhere to will be specified in the installation guide as provided by the manufacture. The unit is not mounted onto an oven, it mounts above it and the clearance is usually about 30" above the cooking surface of the oven. It has to be mounted onto and supported by a flat, vertical wall that can support the weight of the unit...IFV
