sound bar doesn't always turn off or on with cable remote I bought the LAS454B for my in laws and hooked it up to their 49 inch LG led tv with optical cable. It has been working fine I went by there yesterday and they said would not always turn on or off with cable remote. I went back thru set up a few times and problem still there. I think unit is bad.

I have one hooked up the same way, with the optical cable. Mine delays by about a minute or so and then shuts off automatically after no use. Not sure if this is a settings adjustment, mine just operated this way out of the box. Have you observed operation a few minutes after you shut the TV off or just assume it's not shutting off because it doesn't power down immediately?

Mine turns off when the tv turns off and the signal stops. My sound bar is connected to the tv, not my cable box. Maybe theirs is connected to the box? Could make a difference.

Ensure that the setting for "AUTO POWER IS TURNED ON" and that your cable remote is in DIRECT LINE unobstructed view of the Soundbar.

My Directv rf remote would not control my soundbar but the ir remote works fine.

I use my Comcast remote for all. What you could do to test yours and you can always return the item, buy a good universal remote that controls everything. Test it and if it works it may be something with your remote.
