• Any distance. The optical cable is very short so if you need it to be further away just purchase a longer optical cable.

• As far as your connection cable is but keep in mind if placed too far will look funny when your picture is in front of you and the sound is somewhere else.

• Our bass is placed about 17ft away from the tv & soundbar, in a closed 10x20 sq ft room. Sounds great, no issues.

• I would not go more than 30ft. From DIRECT SIGHT of the Soundbar.( if you cannot see the sound bar when deciding on placement it WONT work)

• I'm pretty sure the included optical cable is 6'. You could buy a longer Rocketfish one, at least 12' I think, perhaps longer with an audioquest cable.
