Thank you for reaching regarding LG Microwave. The LG MVEL2137D is designed specifically as an over-the-range microwave and cannot be installed in an island. It is meant to be mounted against a wall and requires adequate support from upper cabinets. Installation in an island or peninsula cabinet is not recommended.
