“How loud is the vent when running. Please answer in SOMs. Our current LG is so loud that we do not use the vent which works fine but it's like having an airplane in the room.”

SOMs is the measurement of a fan's noise like an exhaust vent. Pretty crappy way of not addressing noise issues or being able to buy "smart". no sale

Hello Bill. The sound level for the fan will probably be listed in decibels and not in SOMs. Regrettably, neither the specifications nor the owner's manual for the LG - 2.2 Cu. Ft. ExtendaVent 2.0 Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking - PrintProof Black Stainless Steel, Model # LMHM2237BD list anything for the sound level for the microwave.
