Q: QuestionI'm hoping someone can tell me the shortest height this can be adjusted to. I know what is in the specifications, but I'm hoping this has adjustable legs to shorten it a bit. We are installing hardwood floor, which limits our cutout space. Thanks!
Asked by KAMaryland.
- A:Answer There is a limited amount of adjustment you can make to the height of the dishwasher. We had a floating floor installed when we had the old dishwasher and there was a bit of a problem getting it out of the undercabinet space when it came time to install the new one. The floating floor was 3/8" thick which gave me about 1/2" inch to adjust the new dishwasher during installation. It was difficult but I made it!

Q: Questionwhat's the smart control versus the regular control on the $100 less version?
Asked by peter.
- A:Answer Hello there, Peter! Thank you for your question about the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher. The Smart Control feature allows you to connect your dishwasher to Wi-Fi, enabling you to monitor and control the appliance remotely using the LG ThinQ app. This includes features like starting cycles, receiving notifications, and checking the status of your dishes right from your smartphone. In contrast, the regular control version does not have this Wi-Fi connectivity, which means you’ll need to operate it manually using the built-in controls on the dishwasher itself. Q: QuestionLDFN4542S dishwasher. Serial: 103KWKS0T381. Dishwasher is NSF Certified. Incoming water temp is 135 degrees. What options do I select to sanitize and get the water temp to 150 degrees? The Owner's Manual says NOTHING about how to SANITIZE the dishes.
Asked by SanitizeLDFN4542S.
- A:Answer I use Heavy, High Temp, Extra Dry settings. Probably the high temp is the key for basic sanitizing but whether it gets to 150 or not, I don’t know. It has no “sanitize” setting per se like my old Maytag did. I feel like the dishes come out very clean though. I haven’t worried about it.

Q: QuestionIs this dishwasher an open-bottom dishwasher?
Asked by Dan.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 24-in Front Control Built-In Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with 3rd Rack, QuadWash, and 48dBA - Black Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Not sure what you mean by “open bottom,” but the machine itself does not extend to the floor. It’s even with the bottom of my cabinets that are about 4 inches off the floor. It has kind of a kick plate under it. See attached photo.

Q: QuestionYou did not answer my question regarding Bitumen nor do your specifications state if this dishwasher is Bitumen free. Please advise.
Asked by Bitumen.
- A:Answer LG reps always say they don't use bitumen. They do. They're either uninformed or being dishonest. When it arrives and you see the black baked on stuff all around the outside, that's bitumen. If you're not sure, heat it up with a hair dryer for a moment and you'll smell it (like pavement).
