• It has a high heat setting but that is probably not enough to heat it as much as it should be to clean really well if you have no hot water to begin with. They even recommend turning on your hot water and getting it good and hot before you turn the machine on.

• I don't think so. The instructions suggest running the hot water before starting the cycle.
