• This monitor does not have built in speakers. Check the specifications for the model to see if it has built in speakers by visiting the product page on LG.com, search by the model number. Typically, as a rule of thumb if there's a headphone jack, there aren't any built in speakers. ^Daphane

• I bought the monitor for my work from home desk. The size and resolution are great for my work. I do not use the built in speaker, as I listen through headphones instead. I am planning on buying another one soon. I would definitely recommend this monitor for work/engineering use.
