I think the monitor will work, but no, it does not work with the GSync/FreeSync compatibility mode of the nVidia driver. In order to use GSync, it must be DisplayPort on both sides of the cable. This is because HDMI uses a different protocol that nVidia doesn't support.

Works great with AMD card though.
