Hello, it is not okay to flush against the wall. You should have at least 2 inches for the clearance.^Venette

I believe 3 inches is the minimum to give better ventilation for the back of the refrigerator's coil / seal system.  Pushing against the wall will reduce the lifespan

It will not sit flush. With the waterline you need about an inch of space from the wall.
