• Only for parts. LG will send a service technician to do the repairs for about $600 plus any parts not covered by the warranty; which is pretty much everything other than the compressor. The reason that LG extended the warranty from five years to ten years is because they were hit with a class action lawsuit that proved that they have a defective design in their compressors. They all tend to fail after five or six years and it appears that the defect is still in the compressors that they use, so if you are buying a new one that has the inverted linear compressor; buy an extended warranty, you will be needing it.

• The Linear/Inverter Compressor has a 10- year on parts and 5- year overage for labor. ^Daphane
