A:AnswerSo far, no. The black stainless finish seems to be as durable as the other exterior material. To check, I took a metal kitchen utensil and (using the handle) tried to mark a lower corner where no one would see if it scratched. I tried the exterior body material, then the door, and neither one was marked. I'm sure it can be done, but probably not by incidental contact. I did not use a knife or fork tines, but I still think it was a good test for ordinary day-to-day kitchen use.

The ice container is the entire width of the drawer and it catches on a lip at the front..... you cannot just lift it out
Opening the top doors does nothing to help with the lip at the front.
There is not enough room to shift it towards the back to miss the front lip.
The container will slide sideways along the drawer but we cannot get it out.
