Screen sizes for monitors or TVs are always the diagonal screen measurement, so as you pointed out, the listing of 15.6" for the screen size in the product specifications for the LG 27BN85UN-B 27" Class LCD Monitor - 16:9 - Textured 27" Viewable - In-plane Switching (IPS) Technology - 1.07 - Black, Model # 27BN85UN-B, is incorrect. The screen size is 27", but that includes the bezels, so without the bezels, it is 26'%" The monitor has a side-to-side width of 24.1" and a height of 14.3", but those measurements include the bezels and if you use the Yes, you can easily calculate a monitor's diagonal screen size using the Pythagorean theorem (a² + b² = c²), where c² is the diagonal measurement, you can rework the equation as D (diagonal) = the square root of the W (width) squared + H (height) squared, which will equal 28.02", but that result includes the bezels & some slight manufacturing rounding, so the monitor is sold as a 27" screen.
