Buy a fire stick if you have internet

First, there are some websites out there that if you put in your zip code, they can tell you what the signal strength is of the various over the air broadcasts in your area, and they suggest how strong an antenna you need. However, it almost seems to be a situation where you have to try them and see what works the best. I've seen expensive antennas that don't seem to be able to bring in very many channels, but a cheaper one does. If you can borrow an antenna from someone and try it first, that may be a cheap way to find something that works. Or find somewhere with a good return policy that if the first antenna you try doesn't work well, you can return it and try another. I have two flat antennas that are amplified. They work fairly well picking up 19 local channels, but if the weather is bad, they can lose their signal.
