Yes, the TV is much better than any 1080p TV nowadays. Unless If the Dish network have "High Definition" channels then you would be fine. If you don't have HD channel then you shouldn't buy this one. Because Standard-Definition(SD) channel wouldn't good at 4k and 1080p. 4k TV/1080p and HD channel both would make sense.
