i have a remote from xfinity that , sinks up to my modem so , yes you can also sinc up your remote from the box if you have issues

I don’t like the remote. Amazon and Roku remotes are way better and simpler.

There are certain function that will only work using the manufacturer's remote. I am not sure the ROKU or Xfinity remotes are programmable to the TV. Please seek recommendations/opinions on the forums at https://www.facebook.com/LGUSA as to the degree of ease/difficulty in using the remote.
