Yes it’s red when the tv is off and no light when it’s on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it's a thin red light. To be honest at night we don't notice it, and the TV is in front of our bed approximately 4 feet from the edge of the bed. My wife it sensitive to light and hasn't complained about it. Location is on a dresser eye level to the bed.

The small box at the bottom of the screen that controls the on and off function with the remote for the LG OLED48A2PUA TV does not emit light when the TV is off. The power button for this TV is located under the LG logo on the TV, and it can only be used to turn the TV on or off, not to control other devices. You can download its owner's manual through this link for more information: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-OLED48A2PUA.AUS. ^Cris
