Absolutely. Just plug your Apple TV into one of the HDMI slots, and watch away! Use Apple TV for everything, with no cable box. I have You Tube TV for broadcast TV, and many other apps installed on Apple TV. No need to use the Smart TV function of this TV.

If you don't want to use either, then you can skip setting them up. Apple TV streaming devices are designed to work through HDMI ports on TVs. You can plug an Apple TV streaming device into any of the 4 x HDMI inputs on the TV (you may want to reserve HDMI 2 which is an HDMI eARC port for another device that has an HDMI eARC port)...^Ivan
